Intern Program

Our summer internship program is designed for candidates who are in their penultimate year of study for a university degree.

The program offers you the opportunity to work at Goldman Sachs for 11 weeks, taking on real responsibilities and experiencing first hand the opportunities and challenges of being a full-time team member at a global financial services firm.

You work alongside a team of intelligent, motivated people, who are leaders in their field, working at the forefront of the financial services industry.

Summer internship positions are offered in across our Melbourne, Sydney and Auckland offices, depending on the division for which you are applying.

Training orientation

Your internship begins with a one-day firmwide orientation where you learn about our culture as well as the benefits and responsibilities of being a team member at Goldman Sachs. Firmwide orientation is complemented by division-specific training — this training focuses on divisional strategies and the skills you need to succeed in the division you have chosen to work in.

Learning Series

Throughout the summer, you participate in firmwide and a division-specific learning series. Firmwide learning provides overviews of all of the firm's divisions and the contributions they make to Goldman Sachs. The divisional and business area learning series discuss the intricacies of, and topics most relevant to, each division.

Mentoring and buddy relationship

Your team leader or manager, along with every Goldman Sachs professional you come into contact with, is committed to mentoring and guiding you throughout your time at the firm. We offer the type of responsibility and experience that will provide you with valuable guidance as you make important career choices.

We assign you a mentor who is outside your immediate working group. This senior person gives you career advice and support and helps you to build your professional network.

We also match you to a 'buddy'; an experienced analyst or associate who answers your questions, helps you figure out how to complete your work, shows you where to find the information you need and looks out for your wellbeing.
